A river.
Hercules' wife accidentaly kills him. The Centaur Nessus offered to take them across a river that they needed to cross. Nessus tried to kidnap Deianeira (he takes her across first) but Hercules kills shoots him with a poisoned arrow. Before dying, Nessus tells Deianeira to take some of his blood and save it in case Hercules becomes unfaithful (he said the blood would make him fall back in love with her). One day Deianeira gets told rumours about Hercules being unfaithful and makes him wear something (can't remember what) with the blood on it. As the blood is poisoned from the poison that killed the Nessus, Hercules died. Hercules is half God, so he was allowed to go to Mount Olympus and was set as a star (I think) by Zeus.
Persephone.
Helen.
Queen Hippolyte had a special piece of armor. It was a leather belt that had been given to her by Ares, the war god, because she was the best warrior of all the Amazons. She wore this belt across her chest and used it to carry her sword and spear. Eurystheus wanted Hippolyte's belt as a present to give to his daughter, and he sent Hercules to bring it back. Hera had told the Amazon warriors Hercules was there to kidnap their queen. So they put on their armour and went to fight Hercules. So Hercules quickly killed Hippolyte Took the belt, and fought his way back to his boat. Once he had defeated the amazons he sailed to troy. From there he went on to the king Eurystheus and he proudly gave the belt to his daughter as a present.
Persephone, the daughter of Zeus and Demeter.
No, he just had to steal something from her as one of his twelve labors.

The answer is because the maids gave the centaurs wine which made the centaurs wild and the frieze of lapith attacked the centaurs because their tried to rape and kidnap the women and the leader of the centaurs tried to kidnap the bride of the wedding and the leader of the lapith tried to kill the leader of the centaurs.
