There have only been 2 United States Presidents who were Texans; Dwight D. Eisenhower (born in Denison in Grayson County) and Lyndon B. Johnson (born in Stonewall in Gillespie County). NO other US presidents were born in Texas, and therefore were not Texans.

Lyndon Johnson was born in Texas and and served as a Congressman and Senator from Texas. George W. Bush was born in Conn., but spent his adult life in Texas and served as the Governor of Texas. Eisenhower was born in Texas, but his family moved out when he was a baby and he never lived there as an adult.

I can think of two. George W. Bush, of course, was elected President. John Connally campaigned for the Republican nomination in 1980 but lost to Reagan.
