No, President William Howard Taft did not die in a bathtub. He died of natural causes in his sleep at his home in Washington D.C. on March 8, 1930.

Taft, the 27th President, was the largest President, weighing an official 332 pounds. He did need to have a larger bathtub to be installed in the White House after he moved in. Somebody, possibly the workers who installed the new tub and were amazed at its large size, started a story that he had been stuck in the old tub.
