Hitler did not originally invade Greece. Mussolini sent his Italian troops across the Albanian border on 28 October, 1940. However, his troops did so poorly, that Hitler had to send German troops in to save them from defeat.
Adolf Hitler served as Reichskanzler and later Führer of Germany, not Austria - despite having been born there. He succeeded Kurt von Schleicher as Reichskanzler on January 30, 1933, and Paul von Hindenburg as Führer, though the preceding did not hold this title, from August 2, 1934 until his death.
