They felt shocked , horrified and even petrified. they sometimes would be evacuated up to a few months or maybe a year...

∙ 6y agoLondon was a prime target for German bombing raids. London children were therefore sent to the country to live so that they would not be in danger. This also freed their parents (who stayed behind) to work on the war effort.
