There are three main parts to the US Constitution. They are known as the Preamble, the Articles, and the Amendments.
The 3 parts of the Constitution are the Preamble (or introduction), Articles (tell how the government will work), and the Amendments (focus on the right and powers of the people).
Preamble - an introductory, succinct statement of the principles at work in the full text. It is referred to in speeches and judicial opinions. It starts with, "We the people..." It doesn't actually have any legal value in and of itself.
Articles - there are 7 articles:
Amendments - there are 33 amendments. 27 of them are part of the Constitution:

The three basic parts of the Constitution is the preamble which is just facy way of saying an introduction to an important document. This describes the purpose of the government. The second part is the Articles. This shows how the government is structered and how it could be changed. There is I believe seven articles in total in the Constitution. The last part is the Amendments. They are changes to the Constitution. The first 10 amendments ar called the Bill of Rights. There are 27 amedments in all.
The Constitution was written in the name of the American people: "We the People of these United States."
FramersEdit: The name given to the individuals that created the Constitution is the "Founding Fathers" or the "Framers."
