Overall, the French were much kinder to the Native Americans than the English or Spanish. While the French tried to convert the Native Americans they did not generally force conversion. The French also generally left the Native Americans to themselves as they saw the Native Americans as allies and trade partners for furs.

during early colonial times the french had amazing ties with them, they would often trade and learn the language of the many native American tribes, and unlike other European powers at the times they did not settle as much, meaning the majority of native Americans did get to keep their land until the Louisiana purchase.

Well, the French treated the Native Americans very well. They gave the Indians many resources for cheaper prices than the English charged. Native Americans liked the French better because they respected their land. English people however, cleared the land to build farms, which the Indians didn't like. The English were only friends with the Iroquois because they gave these Indians technology and weapons that once they had tried, they realized they couldn't live without these things.
