The State of Washington, named after George Washington, is the only state named for a President.

( Six states are named after foreign kings: Louisiana after King Louis of France, and Georgia after King George II , N and S Carolina after King Charles. Moreover, Virginia and Maryland were named after Queen Elizabeth (The Virgin Queen) and Queen Mary, respectively. )
