The Roman government is very civilized, just like ours. Julius Caesar was the first to establish the Empire, but was not called the First Real Emperor. Augustus Caesar was actually was called that title. They went from a monarchy to a republic to a empire (Dictatorship). They had well planed communities and so do we, how their consuls ran the empire is very similar to how the president and/or mayor runs the country/town.

The Greek ideas were taken up by the Roman ideas of law, and then essentially became part of the European heritage of law and this laid the fundamental foundation for English law, which became the basis for US law. In essence the law should be impartial from the state; this did not always happen in Rome or in England; but the theory is correct; the separation of state and judicary is elemental to all codes.

The birth of the American legal system stems from many ancient civilizations including Rome. In ancient Rome, the Twelve Tables were created. The tables displayed the laws clearly for all to see. The laws dealt with both the private and public lives of the people of Rome. For the most part, everyone was considered equal in the Roman legal system and people were innocent until proven guilty before a judge

The legal systems of the Romans do not have any influence of modern law. They are totallyredundant. They were around many centuries ago and applied to a totally different society. What is still influential is some key principles of Roman civil law. These are citizenship andcitizenshiprights, everyone is equal under the law, the right to a trial and the right to appeal, innocent until proven guilty, that the burden of proof rest of the accuser and not the accused, and that unfair laws can be repealed.
