In ancient times, Egypt was divided into three kingdoms - Upeer Egypt, Lower Egypt, and Nubia. Lower Egypt is actually the northern part, Upper Egypt is the middle part, and Nubia is the southern part. I know, it's confusing... :)

∙ 9y agoLower Egypt was located in the Nile Delta, in the northern third of the current Arab Republic of Egypt. Upper Egypt was located further upstream on the Nile River up to the first and second cataracts, in the central third of the current Arab Republic of Egypt.
