What did the Ancient Egyptians use to write with and what did they write on?

The Egyptians wrote on Papyrus which was an early form of paper. They also wrote in tombs and on special objects which were in turn placed in the tomb.

They used reed pens, sticks and other sharp objects to write or carve into paper or walls/objects.

While they did write on stone walls during the earliest days of Egyptian civilization, that was quickly rendered obsolete through the invention of both smaller stone tablets and subsequently papyrus. They even had books, though not quite in the way you and I would think of them.

As for writing implements, I cannot help there, although to write on the stone tablets they obviously would have required chisels and hammers. For the papyrus, a fairly safe assumption would be some kind of brush-and-ink method, likely a reed brush as they were common around the Nile.
