At the weighing of the heart ceremony, a dead persons heart would be weighed against the feather of truth.
If your heart was heavier, you could go onto the after life.
If you heart was lighter than the feather, a beast would devour your soul.

∙ 11y agoAnubis is pretty much in charge of the ceremony. He is the one to weigh the pharaoh's heart, and if it's lighter than the feather, Anubis lets the pharaoh pass on to a good afterlife. If the heart weighs more than the feather, Anubis feeds the heart to the devourer/eater of souls.
