All the planets in our solar system are named after Roman gods.

Actually Uranus and Earth are not named after a Roman god. Uranus was named after the Greek god of the sky. Uranus' Roman equivalent is Caelus. Earth comes from a an old German/English word meaning ground.

Its red and people thought it was red from blood, which led people to think that there is a giant bloody war there or there was one. In a way they kinda were right, Mars is red from the large amount of iron in the soil and blood is red also because of iron.
