The kingdoms were called Hellenistic because their culture was Greek-like after Alexander the great fused his Hellenic culture with the lands he conquered.

Hellene was the Greek name for things Greek after the legendary founder Helen. Greek is a word used by Romans. Greeks even today call themselves Hellenes.

The word Hellenistic comes from the Greek word, Hellas, meaning Greece. The Hellenistic period was the period after Alexander the Great's death when his Generals split the empire into four kingdoms between them. These kingdoms were a blend of Alexander's Greek culture with the Persian, Egyptian and many other cultures of the lands Alexander conquered.

Which civilization conquered all the Hellenistic kingdoms?

Alexander died unexpectedly without an obvious heir. With no clear direction, his generals fought for power. Eventually, three distinct Hellenistic kingdoms emerged: Macedonia (which included Greece), Syria, and Egypt. Although Hellenistic culture flourished in all three kingdoms-in particular, Alexandria in Egypt became a great center of culture and learning-all three kingdoms fell to the growing power of Rome between 60 and 30 BC.

Why would Alexander the Great call his three kingdomes Hellenistic?

He didn't - as far as he was concerned there was only his one kingdom. After his death, his generals fought over the spoils and created their own kingdoms. We call these kingdoms today Hellenistic because the local cultures of these kingdoms were merged with Hellenic (Greek) culture and civilization creating a fusion of the two - which is why we use Hellenistic (like Greek) rather then Hellenic (Greek).

Why were the three kingdoms Hellenistic?

Hellenism/Hellenic was their word for Greek. The kingdoms which arose from Alexander's empire after his death were called Hellenistic as they were based on Greek civilisation. However this was superficial as most of the peoples in the ex-Persian territories retained their old ways - only the upper classes adopted Greek culture. So the word Hellenistic is used instead of Hellenic to indicate the partial culture 'like Hellenic'.
