There is no exact number of how many children lost their parents during World War 2, but it is estimated that some one million children ended up orphans. People were killed not only in the battles but also in the bombing of cities.

The children would go to their relatives or if they had no relatives then they'd go to a orphanage or a foster home. Many children were sent to other countries in the hopes they would be placed with an adoptive family.

A lot of different stories happened. It is interesting to quote children from which country are you referring to.
