What country never lost a war?

Switzerland was not involved in World War II, although that defies the definition of the term. Several other countries, such as Ireland, were "officially" neutral but nonetheless involved out of practicality.

There are a few small countries that have not been in existence long enough to have had open conflicts with their neighbors. Or that are so remote that they have no rivals close at hand.

Actually, throughout world history, nearly every country was occupied or invaded at some point. For example, although the British created an empire and colonized many countries, centuries earlier, Britain itself was defeated by Julius Caesar, and was brought under Roman rule.

Some sources assert that two countries-- Nepal and Thailand-- have never been invaded or colonized. Nepal was a British protectorate for a while, but the country was never invaded, nor was Thailand ever invaded. Also, while various countries fought a war of words over who should control the continent of Antarctica, no invasion or battle took place there. But it is true that just about every country in the known world was either colonized or subjected to an invasion (even if they fought off attempts to colonize them).
