Armor crewmen rode their tanks. Armored Cavalrymen rode their M551 Sheridan tanks and M113 APC/ACAV (Armored Personnel Carriers/Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicles); Riverine sailors rode in their Monitors, Alpha Boats, PBRs, and Swift Boats; and everyone else rode in helicopters.

1/4 tons (M-151s) on the ground; Hueys (UH-1s)in the air. Swift boats in the on the rivers. For longer range transportation in South Vietnam the US Army's C7 Caribou was used. For even longer range work the C-130s & C-123s were utilized. CH47 Chinooks were also used for large groups of passengers.

C7=Twin engine cargo plane

C123=Twin engine cargo plane

C130=Four engine cargo plane

SOUTH Vietnam had motor scooters; seemed like every citizen of South Vietnam had a motor scooter!

Helicopters for everyone, everywhere, all the time. Tanks and ACAVs on the ground, the MPs drove around in V-100 Armored Cars, 1/4 tons & 2 1/2 ton trucks for everyone else.
