∙ 12y agoThe Korean conflict and Vietnam War were both conflicts fought as an effort to contain the spread of communism in Asia. The Korean Conflict, while a stalemate, prevented communism from spreading to South Korea, and was viewed as a success for the policy of containment. This also set a precedent for the future Vietnam War, by using military force in an attempt to once again contain communism. Unlike Korea, Vietnam failed to even produce a stalemate, and the Communist Viet Cong overtook the nation.

Both wars were fought using the same M1 steel infantryman's helmet (steel pot): WW2 was the first time; Vietnam was the last time. 6. Both wars were fought using the military draft. 7. Vietnam was the last war fought by WW2 veterans.

∙ 12y agoIf you're referring to the US Civil War (American Civil War) the North won in both cases, the South lost in both wars and the Civil War & Vietnam were fought in the 60s (1860s/1960s).
