Making the prisoners build the machines, dig the holes and help to destroy their own people. The "efficiency" measures taken by the Nazis were all about subjugating and degrading the Jewish people. The gas chambers, the ovens, the hideous science experiments were all bad - but forcing someone to dig their own grave is just downright cruel malice at it's worst.
