That question is more complicated then you might think. The Military was allied with Britain, France, Canada, and Russia. US businesses were a little more willing to share their interests with the Nazis. But for the purposes of this page, America was with the Allies.
The Allied Powers Side With The Great British Empire, French Fourth Republic, and The USSR.

Well i have just finished playing Call of Duty 5, and what i have learned is that the main participants were America, and the SOV on one side, and Germany,Japan, and Italy was split apart and helped each side. The other insugnifigant countrys did squat ****. ALWAYS <3 AMERICA, ITALY, and RUSIA cause the have awsome accents.

In WW1 america never officially joined the allies. Although america won the war for the allies they never joined an alliance.
