he descirbed it as cat and mouse chase. also pochantos and simth never had anything going on. She saved his life cause she wanted the feud between native Americans and new settlers to end. she was sick of all the blood and fighting

Well since he was captured by them he thought that they were extremely hostile and wanted to kill him. He at first thought they were enemies but as time moved on he changed his thinking about the natives.
