women were literally traeted as slaves and things of possession. men thought women had no use but to cook, clean, and have sons. i guess women in certain regions were treated with respect, but i dont think many regions did that.
men were respected and held in high regard. they went to school, had jobs, owned land, and basically ruled their houses. they could have as many women as they wanted, and could even sell their own daughters if they needed money. im not saying they were all bad, but that was just the way things were.
i dont really know the if what im saying is actually correct, but i do know men were superior to women (during those times) and that women were to be submissive. most women in many cutures were treated this way, and some even worse.
