The rain, It rained heavily for a long period of time, (Prolonged Rain) , it rained an exceptional amount of rain in 8 hours, 2 inches in 2 hours.
as well as that, deforestation, and the fact that the soil was saturated
deforestation is when trees are cut down. when they are cut down theres nothing to suck of the water from the ground (roots) and no leaves to catch the water
interception
A lot of rain fell in a very short period in time, Boscastle is situated in a V-Shaped valley so it is easier for the water to pile up (flood), the River Jordan (the river which flooded) needs to pass through Boscastle to reach the sea, sothere was no stopping the flow of the river, a car blocked the flow of the water from the bridge so the water could not flow into the sea.
The Boscastle flood started by to much heavy rainfall which got out of hand and would not stop and the river got higher and higher until it flooded the country .
because it was a flash flood ppl !! xx
No one was killed or seriously injured in the flood.
No. There were many people air-lifted off the top of their houses and more taken from the flood water but none were killed.
The Valency, the Jordan and the Paradise :) <3
The great flood, according to Chinese mythology, was a result of mankinds wickedness and was the work of the Chinese God Taindi, aka Shang-ti, and Tiam.
It caused a flood of track athletes into the French Olympic team after all the running practice they had.

cos its cool
because boscastle is in a valley and there was loads of rainwater and it just all pilled up and it caused a flood
The Boscastle flood started in 2004 by torrential rain and the river Jordan burst its banks. It was also caused by snow melting, due from the winter. The rain helped the snow melt and the river to burst, therefore, caused a flood
