While there are countless important events in the world history, some of the crucial ones which changed the course of history include 1st World War, 2nd World War, Bombing of Hiroshima, First man to land on Moon, and exploration of Mars.
I can see a lot of discussion on this question. No doubt some will say Christianity, others the first or second World Wars, others the dropping of the Atomic Bomb, you could even make a case for the launching of Sputnik. Everyone will have a different take on what made the greatest impact. I will be watching this question closely.
