because there was lots of land there so it was great for farmers and rich land owners so you could buy more land and it was a different climate so you could grow different food and herbs.

also there were tribes of native Americans there and at first the English that had imagrated got on with them but before long they fell out because it was a bit of a culture clash, and so the imagrated English demanded more people from England to come to help defeat the native Americans. but once they'd handled the natives, the English stayed there.
