On a slightly more sad yet unsurprising note, there are only two confirmed veterans of WWI remaining, both British. The last American World War I veteran, Frank Buckles, passed away in February of 2011.
3.2 million veterans of the Korean War are still alive in the U.S. In Canada 200,000 veterans are alive today, more than three hundred pass on each week.
