the 22nd amendment is important because it limits our president to two terms in office if this amendment was revoked then this would be an injustice to any person who did not like the president in office.

The 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified by a sufficient number of States to become the law of the land because it was originally proposed at the request of a number of States. This was done because the Voting Rights Act of 1965 established an age of 18 for federal elections, leading to the possible establishment of multi-tiered voting rights, depending on what was being voted on.

it is not important. im from northern Ireland. the best of the best when it comes to education. within my 15 years of education i have heard nothing of this. you should tell your teacher to teach you on other cultures rather than on America. see, the thing is, when you ever go to Europe you will know NOTHING on their culture and traditions. whereas if most, if not all people went to America, we would know almost everything to do with your cultures.

the question is not "Why is the twenty sixth amendment important?" the question is "when will America stop being so naieve and begin to understand what it means to be smart and knowledgeable?

The amendment limits the term of president to two full terms (plus no more than two years of an initial term if the Vice President becomes President due to the death or resignation of a President).

The amendment prevents any one person from being in control of the executive branch for so long that the branch begins to serve the personal interests of the office holder more than it serves the interests of the country, .

Some feel that Presidents in their second term have more freedom to act without concerns about re-election.
