∙ 12y agojohn Locke firmly believed in the public taking responsibility for learning what their governments were doing. To become active participants in their government and fight for education for all. His quote will seem familiar as Mr. Jefferson used it in helping format the Declaration.

The framers were influenced by many different things, but one of the clearest influences is the work and philosophy of John Locke. According to John Adams the purpose of government is to work for the common good of the people. To protect, serve, and make sure the people have what is needed for life. We have lost the " common good" idea and instead it seems that every interest group wants what they want.
