One of the main reasons for revolution in Latin America would be an increase in nationalism among the people. With Neocolonialism, larger countries outside of Latin America came in and exported resources from these countries to benefit their own. Nationalism created a revolutionist tendency to take back resources and control to the native residents.

Not only that, but also a social unrest caused by the widening gap that could be seen between the lower class and the upper class land owners. Many of the actions after revolution in the countries was focused around redistribution of wealth and land to workers in stead of having a minority control major portions of the countries land area.
