Canada was greatly enriched by the many new Canadian citizens it had gained because of the influx of so many Loyalist British who chose to move to Canada after the American Revolution. It is true that a small number went home to England and a few Southern Loyalists made a new start in the Caribbean and they took thousands of slaves with them.

Before America achieved their independence from England both the U.S. and Canada were depended on the British Parliament. After the American Revolution there was substantial increases in population in Canada as the loyalists begin immigrating to the country. Canada also found itself faced with a responsibility for helping Great Britain pay its debt which was caused by the war efforts.

Canada was involved in the Revolutionary War because the American Colonies (U.S. and Canada) were seeking independence, that is how Canada was involved in the Revolutionary War.
