In The Bible at Genesis 11:4 the people wanted to build a city so they could make a celebrated name for themselves rather than giving glory to God. In verse 7, God confused the languages of the people so that they wouldn't be able to communicate with one and other so they couldn't build the city. Everyone scattered about the face of the earth and didnt finish building the city. That's the first mention of languages.
