Usually, a perfectly good person rules their time and a tyranny is started when the successor is a tyrant.

As to the replacement for the tyrant,.... it really depends on how he was decided to be or made unfit (such as assassination)

The thing about a tyranny is that "people" don't decide. Someone comes along and takes the power. No one fights him and if they do they die so everyone falls in line until a stronger person comes along with a bigger army.

no one really rules, some one just comes along with a big army and if the ruler before is over thrown or killed, it is the new leader of the new army that ruels
