The settlement in the west affected the native Americans that lived there because once us Americans kept on pushing west after making Ohio a state we pushed into new areas .we settled in the territory of Indiana and other lands further west and the tide of settlement had a grave impact on native Americans like exposing them to disease's such as small pox, measles, and influenza killed thousands of them.and settlers took over a large part of there hunting grounds.took the forest for there farming. native Americans tradition, pover, home, life, and population declined.and that's how the settlement in the west affected the native Americans)

Native cultures lost people due to disease (smallpox for example), the expansion of settlers limited land that the Native people could live on and the Fencing of the land led to issues with the migration of animals that were essential for Native lifestyle.

When white settlers began to move westward in search of new farmlands or mines that could yield precious metals, the Native Americans in all parts of the Western Hemisphere were placed at a disadvantage. Various treaties were often broken and Native resistance brought about armed conflict. The European colonization of the Western Hemisphere would eventually marginalize the Native American populations.

Native Americans were impacted in many ways by settlement of the West. They lost sacred land and hunting grounds. Also, there was now competition for food and resources.
