by the number of representatives and senators in that state
false
There is 435 representatives in the house.
There are 100 senators in Congress. Two senators for each state in the United States of America. So there are 50 states, each has two senators, so in there are 100 senators all together in Congress in the United States.
Members of the congress often support political positions that mirror voter opinion in their home states. Apex
it has nine members and 99 in the us states
In the United States, "Member of Congress" is the same thing as "Member of the House of Representatives."
The House of Representatives has 435 members as of 2009.
I think this is actually 2 questions. Every one of the US states have voting members in Congress. Usually each state has 2 Senators and a number of Representatives (based on the population of the state.) However, US territories are not states and do not have voting members in either the Senate or House of Representatives.
Illinois has a total of 18 members in the United States House of Representatives and 2 members in the United States Senate, making a total of 20 members representing the state in Congress.
depends on if it is a senator or a representative... senate- half of the state's population rep- divide the number of representatives in that state by the state's population overall- divide the number of representatives plus two (senators) by the states populatoin
In the United States government, we have two Houses in the Legislative branch. These two Houses are the House of Representatives and the Congress. By definition, Congress has only two members per state (so, 100 members). The House of Representatives has the number of members based on the population of the states they represent. I think they have around 500 members, but don't quote me on that. So, if I understand what you're asking, the Congress is the house with the least members. I hope that helps. U.S. SENATE,ONLY 100 MEMBERS
There are 535 members of the U.S. Congress. Congress is bicameral -- the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate has 100 voting members and the House of Representatives has 435 members.

The US Senate has 100 members (Senators): 2 are elected from each of the 50 states. But the members of the US Senate are called senators and not "representatives." Representatives are what you call members of the other chamber of the US Congress - the House of Representatives. It has 435 members and the number is determined by the proportional population of the states.
The 'upper house' of the US Congress is the Senate. It has 100 members, two from each of the 50 states. The 'lower house' is the House of Representatives which has 354 voting members, the number for each state being given according to the number of people in each state.
California currently has 53 House members. Since the number of representatives a state has is determined by population, California naturally has the most. Meanwhile Wyoming only has one, due to their small population.
