the united states was just begging to gain controle over the skies in Europe, once we gained full controle of the skies we can fly our planes without them being harmed. we had already siezed controle over the northren half of Africa that the Germans had. we stole it from them, we did this to weaken the army and it was a war plan. churchill called it hitting (attacing the soft under belly of Europe, and once they gained controle of Africa the could come up threw itaily. it was then after that and during we were flying our plans into Germany to destroy there factories, so they couldn't make war supplies as fas and easy, ans the Americans would have the upper have the upper hand.
