They are establishing (a form of) justice;
ensuring domestic tranquility, as in, people can be arrested for disturbing the peace;
providing common defense (we do have an army fighting for our continued freedom!);
promotes general welfare - gives people a chance to live a free life as they see fit;
and it secures our liberties further given in the Constitution not only for ourselves, but for our children, our posterity, as well.
