The biggest battle in the Revolutionary war is Richmond, because we got the largest British army in the continental United States to surrender and the biggest general to surrender also.

The biggest battle in the Revolutionary war was the Battle of Long Island (1776). The British army outnumbered the Colonials 2 to 1 (20,000 vs. 10,000). It was just a month after the Declaration of Independence. The battle was also the first major battle of the war. It was this battle that made the Colonials realize that large scale battles against the much better trained and equipped British was a bad idea.

The Battle of Trenton was one of the biggest and the most important battle of the American Revolution. However, the battle of Saratoga was also very important.
