One of the advantages of the three branches of government is that it helps put checks and balances in place such that no branch is too powerful compared to the other one. The other advantage is that they help prevent tyranny.

Because the government is divided into 3 seperate branches who all have different jobs, the power is divided equally and one branch is not more powerful than the others. If one branch was more powerful, they might want to become a tyrant or king.
