Yes the age might below but teens are mature enough to handle such a large responsibility. The number of car crashes to the number of teen drivers in the world is not even a comparison. And no matter what the age whether it is 16 17 or 18 the teens are still going to have as much experience so why not start them out at a younger reliable age where they are mature enough to handle it. I hope i answered your question

Well that's one opinion, as for the accident stats for young drivers, young drivers under 19 shows higher stats for injury accidents. Excessive speed, dangerous driving, street racing, drunk driving, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, hit and run, man slaughter, reckless driving, fleeing the scene, failure to remain at the scene. These are most of the common charges that "new irresponsible drivers" face. Now I am not down on anyone who is 16 years old with a driver's license.

I am drawing attention to the fact that there is always some "moron" out there who needs to be a "hero" and needlessly draw attention to the driving inabilities of young drivers. Probationary driving periods where the license can be lifted would, and has proven , where it is used to reduce the "idiot factor" among young drivers. Responsibility starts when the butt hits the driver's seat. Each driver is responsible for his/her actions regardless of age.
