The victim, William Wallace Daniel, 41, was the son of the novelist Margaret Truman, the only child of President Truman, and Clifton Daniel, the former managing editor of The New York Times, who died in February. The second of four brothers, Mr. Daniel was a psychiatric social worker at the New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University.
The police would not discuss the investigation, but his family provided a copy of the police report, which said Mr. Daniel was trying to cross Park Avenue at East 76th Street at 2:40 a.m. Saturday when the yellow cab struck him.
It was not Harrison Gates Daniel who was killed by a taxi cab in New York City in 2000 according to the NY Times, it was William Wallace Daniel, his brother.
John Tyler
John Tyler was Harrison's vice-president. He became President when Harrison died on April 4, 1841, after just one month in office.
Benjamin Harrison was 55 years old when he became the 23rd President of the United States.
The two Declaration signers who became President were John Adams (2nd US President) and Thomas Jefferson (3rd US President).(The Benjamin Harrison (V) who signed the Declaration was the father of 9th President William Henry Harrison and the great-grandfather of 23rd President Benjamin Harrison.)
Tyler ran for vice-president in 1840 with Wm Henry Harrison heading the ticket. He became president because Harrison died soon after taking office. Tyler never ran for president .
