Actually France, Spain, the Netherlands and Russia also helped the Americans. Technically, through Baron Friedrich von Steuben Germany had helped, too along with Thaddeus Kosciuszko who was Polish. So really France, Spain, the Netherlands, Russia, Germany, and Poland helped the Americans
