America pulled all it's dealing's with Japan. This included all iron and iron ore as well as fuel. This caused Japan to have a limited supply of supplies to continue their fight against China on the side of Germany, they were both fascist governments. Japan needed these supplies, and in it anger it attacked the United States by attacking the bulk of America's Navy in the Pacific on Dec 7th 1941 a Sunday morning, before declaring war on the United States.
