"Going Native" is a derogatory term that is not a part of American politics. It's a British term from the 1850-1960's used to denote those expatriate citizens who abandoned a British life-style for that of the Kenyans, Indians, Malaysians, etc. It usually indicated a Brit who married a local woman.
