Though he taught both anti Communism, and anti Fascism, his quotes about Hitler, a few of them admirable, doomed him in both Britain & the US. The "Oxford Group" reached the height of its influence in the late 1920's & 1930's, by the the early 1940's the church was failing. Buchman's anti materialism was not revealed in his personal life, and his remarks about certain sexual acts were also not well received.
