One obvious form of bias is that although it admitted that "all people are endowed with certain Rights by their Creator, among them Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness", slaves were still widely used and treated inhumanely until almost 200 years after the Declaration was written. This went the same with women, although they were treated unfairly to a lesser degree compared to slaves.
Yes. It states within the document that "all people are endowed with certain Rights by their Creator, among them Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness". While this is believed to be true, and was accepted, slaves were used and treated inhumanely up to 200 years after the document passed within America.
There is probably other bias too, I just haven't found it!
The Declaration of Sentiments was written by a middle class to high-class reformer (Elizabeth Cady) who wanted equality among women and men. Using what the Top Answer comment said, yes they had different point of views because different groups such as the natives, and slaves had different needs which the Declaration did not include. This makes the declaration controversial as it mainly suited the needs of white middle/higher-class women and not all the women in the United States.
It's somewhere along these lines, and I'm probably missing things in this but that's the jest.
