It is a Pardon given to a person or persons after death, records have to adjust to proclaim the named as innocent after death,

i.e. if I got tried and found guilty of a murder and was put to death and after my death new evidence shows that I was innocent then they would have have to give my family and decedents a posthumous pardon.
