A Karanga man from Bikita;Went to work on the mines in South Africa and converted to the ZCC of Lihganyane;Came back to the then Southern Rhodesia and preached the word of God;Believed in the power of healing and rain making; The colonial government tried to supress his evangelism of emancipation from sin and oppression of one people by other people based on the divine leadership of the children of Israel; In his early days performed many "mityoro/mashura/zvishamiso" using the power of prayer. His walking stick, mapumangozi, was synonymous with healing and performing "mashura";Had a big following and his followers were known to be God fearing. Men were clean shaven and encouraged to be smart and were encouraged to dress like clonial white policemen; whilst women dressed in white blouses, wide skirts and covered theirheads with dukus. Church members were encouraged to be hard working and trust in "Mwari waEnginas, Mwari Isaka, Mwari waJacob......" and not to believe and trust in any other power other than that of God.In the early days the ZCC did not ask for money but the church members did their best to ensure that "Munhuwamwari" would be comfortable.
