The value depends on the content of the letter, whether it is typed or in his hand-writing. Dealers, who make a profit, list Eisenhower letters at $4000 to $18,000, as revealed by a quick search.
what a silly question
They're at least worth their weight in silver.

Brass not gold. Just the Mint issue uncirculated coins have very small premiums above face value.
Highly unlikely that either President actually signed a land grant in their own hand. Somewhere about 1830, President Andrew Jackson gave "secretarial authority" to others to pen his signature to the multitude of "ordinary" documents the President is expected to sign each day. The practice continues even today. So, in answer to your question, unless the land grant is to someone or someplace of some historical importance, I don't see it as a money value. But a great conversation piece!
A Jim Mudcat Grant single signed baseball is worth about $30.-$40. Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. Signatures that have not been properly authenticated could sell at half the market value or less. Add for inscriptions. In a recent auction (Feb. 2008)a Jim Mudcat Grant single signed baseball sold $45.00 For more prices on single signed baseball see Related Links below.
Most land Grants were "proxy signed" meaning that usually they were signed by an assistant or designated secretary or authorized person. On very rare occasions did the President of United States personally sign a land grant as there were tens of thousands grants awarded for various reasons, many being early soldiers that served in the military and early settlers in undeveloped lands. The Buchanan dollar was minted in 2010, and is worth exactly one dollar.
If the baseball is "multi-signed", and not "single signed" you would have to name the other players that signed the baseball to get an approximate value.
Less than 25 cents.
Grant won national fame by being the commander of the union armies that ended the Civil War. President Lincoln tried several commanders before Grant and the war dragged on and on. Grant knew what to do to end the war and the people in the North were grateful. They made made a 2-term US president. After he retired he wrote his memoirs that are highly acclaimed and praised for their clear writing style and historical value. They were largely based on notes that he had written during the war.
The age of when the ball was signed does not determine the value. Supply and demand does. The value of the signature will rely on the popularity of the player that signed the ball, and how often he signed. If there are more collectors than signatures on the market the value will be high. If there are many signatures on the market and a lower number of collectors, a lower value.
The value may depend on which two players signed it.

Value of Bill Clinton's AutographI would pay millions because he is my idol. Value is much less than a million...A genuine Bill Clinton signature signed when he was President can cost $500.00 according to an autograph dealer. The value of his signature since he left the White House would most likely not be that much. You can buy a signed copy of his new book for $125.
A baseball inscribed by Joe DiMaggio to the President of the united States is a good start if authenticated but, the bulk of the value will be rely on the strength of the provenance that accompanies the baseball, and your ability to prove the baseball belonged to that President. If the baseball was dedicated to a President it would have been presented to him as a gift. A baseball with such history does not just make onto the market. It would have most likely been part of an estate sale, or given to a friend or family member of the President, and then made available to the collecting public. The documentation of the chain of custody is necessary to get full value for the baseball. A Joe DiMaggio single signed baseball is worth about $400.-$600. But, a unique baseball personally signed to the President of the United States will have added historic value. The baseball will be of interest to not only the baseball memorabilia collector but, a collector of political artifacts as well. A true value would be hard to put on this baseball. You would have to find a signed baseball of similar stature that has sold at auction, and take into consideration the provenance that it came with as compared to yours.
