The Treaty of Paris.
Strictly speaking there was no 'Revolutionary War' unless you were one of the colonists taking part in the fighting. From the standpoint of the British Government of the day it was an armed insurrection, and nothing more. A legitimate 'state of war' can only exist between two separate countries or nation states. For example the English Civil War was not a 'state of war' as much as a power struggle between two factions of the English state - the Crown and Parliament.
What the Americans call their "War of Independence" was not a true war but again a power struggle where the colonies prevailed. The United States of America was created by the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the struggle was still taking place at that time. No representative of the British government was present at the signing, therefor it was essentially UDI, a unilateral declaration of independence. Britain eventually accepted the States as a nation as a fait accompli simply because it had, at the time, more pressing concerns in Europe. Records of the day show that the prevaling feeling within Parliament was that the 'colonists' would be dealt with at a later date.
In the end, American independence was acquired as much through British government vaccilation rather than the winning of an undeclared war.
As for the Treaty of Paris, lauded at the time as an "exceedingly generous document" it has been honoured more in its breach than its keeping. I don't know how many of its articles are still in force, I doubt few, if any. Certainly few of the new States made any serious attempt to adhered to it.
