What was 1912 like?

1912 was like they had no roads they did not have highways til 1916 they had dirt roads they drove carraiges well the horses did. They wore pilgram and top hats they got whipped if they got something wrong in school or stand in the corner with a hat that siad dunce. When they went outside if they were miss behaving the neighbor would beat them then they would tell there mom or dad then they would get spanken again. The buildings are small and shops are small.

Very bad... Most people were poor slaves, Working class wasnt much better and it was still hard for the middle class. Women were still treated badly. It was only good for the upper class who were nobles or factory owners.

That's not right, at all. Working class was bad, but the politics in the U.S. had begun to respond to health and safety threats in workplaces. States were beginning to enact health-and-safety legislation, to be struck down within a few years by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Transportation was improving dramatically, increasing opportunities for the disadvantaged to escape hopelessness.

children would have their shoes and hands checked in assembly if their shoes were dirty they would have to stay inside and have the cane while others that were clean would go out and play. Usually the poor didn't have the resources to clean themselves and so they would spit on an old brush and then scrub them.

You would get the cane if you were bad/naughty.

You would also do jobs for your family before school.

Children were aloud to stay on at school till they were 14 before leaving to work in dangerous factories for money.

hours were long, conditions were bad and pay was low. this of course only counts for the rea working class but like now there will have being working class people with a job they liked, and got paid well for.

Depends on the person,usually upper and upper middle class lived in a good environment but working class(lower class) lived in filth and disease and it was just plain horrific and most lower class immigrants lived in tenements which are houses that hold more than 2 families and usually it's very cramped... So basically for the wealthy it was all good but for the poor it sucked!

Working conditions were still generally very unsafe, often the company owned the entire town (e.g. if you lost your job you lost your housing), you were typically not paid real money (e.g. your pay was deposited in a company account and could only be spent at the company store, cash would only be given in company script which was worthless outside the company town), any attempt to change working conditions could get you killed by company "goons" (or even state national guard troops).
